Hamburg to keep van Buyten
Belgian stopper Daniel van Buyten is expected to remain with Hamburg.
Belgian stopper Daniel van Buyten is likely to remain at Hamburg, according to his agent. The former Manchester City man has been a central figure at the AOL-Arena since arriving last summer from Marseille, and has attracted interest from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich.
However, with Hamburg set to qualify for the Uefa Cup, the Belgian international's agent Christophe Henrotay believes that despite external interest van Buyten will remain with Thomas Doll's side.
"Many clubs have had a look at him, but there's no concrete offer and Hamburg hasn't signalled that they are ready to sell Daniel," said Henrotay.
"We believe that he will remain with Hamburg."
The news will come as a massive boost to Doll who aims to make van Buyten a key part of his future plans at the ambitious side.
