A number of SPL clubs are believed to be keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Michael Stewart.

The Scottish international is weighing up his options after ending his loan spell at Hearts last weekend.

Stewart is set to return to Manchester United now his spell at Tynecastle has come to an end.

The 24-year-old impressed during his time at Hearts and the Edinburgh clubs are thought to be keen to make his stay permanent.

Stewart, who has one-year to run on his contract at Old Trafford, is now weighing up his options and he is set to discuss his future with Manchester United this summer.

The player's representative Clive Hart revealed a number of clubs were monitoring Stewart's situation at United.

"Michael has one year to run on his contract at Manchester United and he is set to meet them to discuss his future," Hart told skysports.com.

"Michael enjoyed his time at Hearts and he did well for them.

"Several SPL sides have expressed an interest in Michael and he is keeping his options open."
