Pars ace mulls over Dons deal

Barry Nicholson will spend the weekend thinking over a move to Aberdeen.

Dunfermline Athletic midfielder Barry Nicholson will spend the weekend thinking over a move to Aberdeen.

The Dons had a £200,000 offer for the Scotland international accepted by The Pars earlier this week.

Discussions with the player took place on Friday and Nicholson has now gone away to chew over the offer to move to Pittodrie.

"The clubs have agreed a fee and my agent Kenny Moyes met with Willie Miller yesterday but nothing was signed," said Nicholson.

"We will mull things over during the weekend. Talks are ongoing and we will both be back in touch with Aberdeen at the start of the week."

Meanwhile, Dundee have warned Aberdeen to firm up their interest in Steve Lovell or forget about signing the striker.

Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood is keen to take Lovell to the Granite City but his Dundee counterpart Jim Duffy is becoming fed up of the rumours.

Duffy said: "Aberdeen have been linked with Steve for some time and if they want to do something positive then they should put up the correct amount of money for a top-class player.

"Everyone knows we need to raise extra finance and so our top players are bound to attract interest but that doesn't mean Aberdeen or anyone else should try to get things on the cheap."
