Duo battle for Nihat

Valencia and CSKA Moscow are battling it out for Real Sociedad striker Nihat.

Valencia and CSKA Moscow are battling it out for Real Sociedad striker Nihat.

The Turkish international is considering a move away from Sociedad after rejecting a new deal at the Basque outfit.

Nihat is currently recovering from tore knee ligaments, but he is expected to be fit for the start of next season.

New Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores has made Nihat his top transfer target, with Bernardo Corradi expected to leave La Mestalla in the summer.

Uefa Cup winners CSKA Moscow have held a long-term interest in the skilful striker and they are also monitoring his situation.

Sociedad are thought to be looking in the region of ‚é¼12 million (£8.25 million) for Nihat and as yet no club has met their valuation.

Nihat is refusing to discuss his future, but admitted he would find it difficult to play in Russia.

"I am happy in Spain and it would not be easy to play in Russia," said Nihat.
