Grimsby Town have swooped to sign Terry Barwick from Scunthorpe United.

The midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements by Iron chief Brian Laws and this allowed The Mariners to step in.

A two-year deal was swiftly agreed upon and the player etched his name to the contract after successfully completing his medical on Wednesday.

Barwick will likely line up alongside Justin Whittle next term after he agreed a new deal.

The 33-year-old defender returned from holiday to ink the one-year deal and is delighted to extend his stay at Blundell Park.

Town boss Russell Slade is working on more transfers, with two keepers reportedly in his sights.
