Ajax sign Lindenbergh

Ajax have completed the signing of AZ midfielder Olaf Lindenbergh.

Ajax have bagged the signature of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Olaf Lindenbergh - eleven years after first letting him go.

Lindenbergh, 31, spent a total of nine seasons in the Amsterdam club's youth and reserve teams before leaving for De Graafschap.

The Dutchman then moved to AZ in the winter break of the 1999/2000 season and his recent performances - which helped propel unfancied AZ to third place - have caught the eye of Ajax manager Danny Blind.

Lindenbergh was recently called up to the Dutch national squad and a three year contract at the Amsterdam Arena completes a fantastic season.

The transfer fee remains undisclosed.
