Rafa plays down Guti talk
Rafa Benitez has played down reports linking the club with a move for Guti.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has played down reports linking the club with a move for Real Madrid's Guti.Fresh reports emanating from Spain have suggested that Liverpool were lining up a move for the unhappy midfielder.
Guti is believed to considering his future at Real after growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team chances at El Santiago Bernabeu.
Real are thought to be ready to let Guti leave the club and Juventus are reported to be keen on his services.
Benitez has admitted he is aware of Guti, but dismissed speculation that suggested he was hoping to sign him - citing his price tag as problematic.
"There are many people at Real Madrid that we are aware of, but we really know our economic limitations," Benitez told El Mundo Deportivo.
"And there are players that cannot leave and there are others we do not want, but the press link them to us even though this is not true."
Benitez is believed to have already outlined his targets to bolster his European champions and it appears Guti is not on his list.
