Leeds' Clark talks doomed
Leeds United's attempts to bring Lee Clarke to Elland Road appear doomed.
Leeds United's attempts to bring Lee Clark to Elland Road appear doomed due the player's wage demands.Experienced midfielder Clark is available on a free transfer after Fulham opted against handing the veteran an extension.
Assistant manager Sam Ellis has confirmed the club have spoken with the 32-year-old, but conceded an agreement is unlikely to be reached.
The purse strings remain tight at the West Yorkshire club leaving the side unable to match the former Newcastle man's personal demands.
"We have spoken to Lee but at this stage it looks unlikely anything will happen," Ellis told the Leeds Evening Post.
"We are not in a position to do anything with him at this moment.
"Players coming out of the Premier League have to understand that until they are realistic in their demands, they won't be coming down to The Championship."
