Hearts seal Wallace deal

Hearts have handed a new contract to defender Lee Wallace.

Hearts have handed a new contract to defender Lee Wallace.

The young left back had just one year left on his current deal at Tynecastle, but now Hearts have extended Wallace's terms by another two years - taking him to 2008.

"Lee still had a year left on his existing deal but we've added two years to that and improved his terms," said coach John McGlynn.

"He was still on the standard contract that all the young boys get when they come to the club, but given his development and the number of games he played for the first team in the second half of last season, he deserves the reward he's receiving."

Meanwhile, it is also believed that Graham Weir is close to penning a new one-year deal - despite interest from other SPL clubs.
