Abbiati confirms exit

Christian Abbiati says he is 100 percent certain of leaving Milan this summer.

Milan keeper Christian Abbiati has confirmed that he will be leaving the Serie A and UEFA Champions League runners up this summer.

Both Fiorentina and Palermo have been rumoured to hold a strong interest in the 27-year-old, whilst Spanish outfit Villarreal have also identified the player as a potential replacement for Liverpool target Jose Reina.

Abbiati has struggled to make the Rossoneri first eleven, remaining firmly behind Brazil star Dida in the pecking order, and is now keen to further his career in new surroundings.

His exit from The Giuseppe Meazza has been anticipated for some time, and the shot stopper has now confirmed that he is 100 percent certain to leave the club.

Abbiati also revealed that he has not been short of offers in the past, although now perceives the time to be correct to leave - whether to another Italian club or abroad.

"I'll leave Milan, 100 percent, as I want to come back to doing my job," Abbiati told Corriere dello Sport.

"I missed certain things in the last three seasons, a lot.

"The Rossoneri is a big family where I leave my heart.

"I was never lacking in offers but I preferred to stay here, but now I am evaluating a few proposals in a different way.

"Where will I go? To a team that will have faith in me.

"I have no preferences, each club that will have a serious and important plan, I wouldn't have problems in going abroad too, I'm open to either solution."
