Klinsmann defends Huth

Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann has jumped to the defence of Robert Huth.

Jurgen Klinsmann has defended Robert Huth against mounting criticism in the German press that the inexperienced Chelsea youngster is not up to international standards after a couple of disappointing performances in the past few weeks.

The 20-year-old is currently enduring a difficult time in his home country as he was blamed for conceding two goals in Germany's 4-3 Confederations Cup opener against Australia while his sending off for handball in the 4-1 win over Northern Ireland did little to win him any further sympathies.

And with influential daily Bild slamming the ‚Ç£Huth Horror Show‚Ç¥ and calling for the youngster to be dropped for Germany's second match against Tunisia on Saturday, Klinsmann felt it was time to call for more patience with his under-fire player.

‚Ç£Robert needs to get more match practise as he doesn't feature regularly for Chelsea, but we are very, very pleased about the way his overall progress went,‚Ç¥ stressed Klinsmann.
