Pedretti explains l'OM exit

Benoit Pedretti has blamed Marseille for his move to Lyon.

Lyon's new signing Benoit Pedretti has stated Marseille's lack of determination to keep him was the main factor in his decision to move.

The ‚é¼7 million capture felt l'OM's officials were happy to let him go, despite new coach Jean Fernandez's hopes of retaining the winger.

Pedretti was happy with his form last term and is now just looking forward to playing for Lyon rather than focussing on the past.

"I had an interesting and enriching experience at Marseille in a different atmosphere than at Sochaux," explained Pedretti to L'Equipe.

"I learnt a lot, so I have grown. I don't feel I had a bad season at l'OM, especially as I am still in the French team.

"The problem is perhaps people thought I would dribble past 30 players, but it is not my style of play.

"It is true new coach Jean Fernandez wanted me to stay, but other people at l'OM didn't have the same desire.

"At Lyon, everyone wanted me. Marseille is not my business anymore, I have signed with Lyon."
