Teixeira: No Robinho deal yet
Santos say Robinho's move to Real Madrid has not been completed.
Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has stated that Robinho's protracted move to Real Madrid has not been completed as yet.
The 21-year-old seems set to complete his move to El Santiago Bernabeu in the near future, despite being under contract with the Sao Paulo club until 2008.
The Brazilian starlet - currently with his country's national side at the Confederations Cup in Germany - has already hinted this week that his move to the Spanish giants may be close to completion.
Teixeira, however, seems keen to hold on to the youngster for another year, with Santos thought to have rejected a $15 million offer from Real for Robinho.
"I saw that Real Madrid have announced that they have reached an agreement with Robinho," Teixeira said.
"But the club that wants to make an announcement saying that they have bought the player will only be able to do it once we have in our bank account the money that we have valued for the player and the money that they have to pay for the remainder of his contract."
Robinho's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, confirmed a meeting had taken place with Teixeira regarding Real's latest offer.
"We had a meeting with the president of Santos for letting him know about the offer that Real Madrid made for Robinho," said Ribeiro.
