Juan Sebastian Veron has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal to stay at Internazionale.The Argentine midfielder spent last season on loan in Italy from Chelsea after failing to settle at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho had made it clear he had no future in West London, but Veron himself had recently hinted he was considering a return to his native Argentina.
However, he has now opted to stay on at Inter and the two clubs have agreed a permanent transfer.
No details of a fee have yet been released, but Inter have expressed their delight at capturing the 30-year-old.
"We are very satisfied with how the negotiations with Veron and Chelsea concluded," Inter technical director Marco Branca told the club's website.
"Keeping Veron at Inter was the objective of the club, coach Roberto Mancini and the player himself.
"He had for some time expressed his wish to continue with us."
Meanwhile, Inter have also renewed their joint ownership of Macedonian striker Goran Pandev - who is co-owned by Lazio.
Pandev spent last season in the capital and will do the same again next term.
Another player joint owned by Inter, Franco Semioli, has now been bought outright by Chievo.
