Luis Figo looks likely to reveal where he will be playing next season in 'the next few days'.The Portuguese star appears ready to quit Real Madrid after failing to receive assurances about his first-team prospects.
The 32-year-old found himself warming the substitutes' bench towards the end of last term and is now ready to continue his career away from the Spanish capital.
There has been widespread interest in the former Barcelona winger with Newcastle, Panathinaikos, Stuttgart, Marseille and Lyon among the more serious contenders for his signature.
There have also been offers from Qatar and Japan, but Miguel Macedo - who works for the Starzone company who represent Figo - insists they have been discounted, despite the lucrative financial terms, because the leagues are not competitive enough.
Macedo also revealed Figo would not be considering a return to his native Portugal, but insisted the player would only stay at Real if he could not find a more attractive option elsewhere.
"There will be news in the next few days," Macedo told Diario de Noticias.
"(He will only stay at Real Madrid) if there is no better solution.
"Luis's salary causes a problem in the football industry that is not easy to resolve."
