Bhoys warned over Niemi
Harry Redknapp has told Celtic that they will have to stump up the cash for Antti Niemi
Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has warned Celtic that they will have to stump up the cash if they are to lure keeper Antti Niemi away from St Mary's.Niemi is said to be ready to move on from the South Coast of England following Saints' relegation to The Championship and Bhoys chief Gordon Strachan is a huge admirer of the talented Finn.
Redknapp would love to keep Niemi at the club, but is aware he could leave and is adamant the Finn will not be allowed to move on for a paltry sum.
"I reckon you're talking at least £2.5 million for Antti," Redknapp told the Scottish Sun. "But, to be honest, I'm not even thinking about selling him.
"I don't want Antti to leave because I rate him one of the top four keepers in Britain.
"Gordon hasn't spoken to me, although maybe he has talked to Rupert Lowe."
Claus Lundekvam is another Southampton player to have caught the eye of Celtic and Redknapp admits a deal could be struck for the defender.
"Claus Lundekvam is a smashing lad who is a very experienced defender and has been a decent servant for us," added Redknapp.
"If Gordon wants to make an offer, then all he has to do is pick up the phone and I'm sure we can do a deal."
