Ajax have rewarded impressive youngster Hedwiges Maduro with a new contract.
Ajax have rewarded impressive young stopper Hedwiges Maduro with a new contract after the 20-year-old enjoyed a tremendous debut season with the Dutch giants.Maduro earned a call-up to Marco van Basten's senior Oranje squad despite only a handful of first team appearances, and captained his country as they exited the Fifa World Youth Championships at the quarter-final stage earlier this month.
After a sensational breakthrough year Maduro has penned a new one-year extension to his current deal, and is now contracted at the Amsterdam ArenA until 2008.
Maduro has previously signalled his desire to continue his development into next season, and Ajax boss Danny Blind will no doubt be delighted at completing the new deal to allow one of Holland's brightest young talents to flourish in Amsterdam.
