Cziommer returns to Schalke
FC Twente's loan star Simon Cziommer will return to Schalke next season.
Simon Cziommer will return to Schalke next season to end his 18 month loan association with FC Twente.The Dutch outfit had been hoping to keep hold of the 24-year-old, although he will now return to Die Bundesliga's runners-up.
Cziommer began his career at Twente before making the switch to Schalke, although his time at the Arena AufSchalke was blighted by injury and returned to his homeland to rejuventate his career.
It remains to be seen whether Cziommer will figure in coach Ralf Rangnick's plans next season, and Twente director of football Johan Plageman expressed his disappointment at losing out on the player.
"We would have liked to keep Simon but we didn't agree with Schalke," said Plageman.
