Frey happy at Fiorentina
Sebastien Frey is delighted with his loan move to Florence.
French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has been unveiled by Fiorentina after he agreed a season-long loan deal with the club.
Frey had been linked with many top-flight English clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks, but he has decided to remain in Italy for the 2005/06 season.
Whilst Frey was being paraded next to Fiorentina's other two signings, Christian Brocchi and Manuel Pasquel, the 25 year-old spoke of the great opportunity that he saw in moving to Florence.
Frey told the media: "I reduced my signing fee just to come to Florence and wear this jersey. But this isn't a sacrifice if I am to be arriving in such an important team with coach Prandelli. I think he's the right man to be aiming high with this team."
And there is no indication of Frey taking things easy during his year-long stay in Florence, with the custodian keen to begin work with his new club as soon as possible.
"I'm 25 years old and have good experience. I have a big will to improve myself and to grow. I think this is the ideal town, but don't talk about targets, for the moment we must only work."
