Lux urges Robinho to move

Wanderley Luxemburgo believes Robinho must join Real Madrid.

Real Madrid manager Wanderley Luxemburgo has issued a stark warning to Brazilian wonderkid Robinho, claiming that he must move to Real Madrid now if he is to fulfil his potential.

Robinho has become the hot property of the summer as Real Madrid and Arsenal pursue the signature of the youngster. The striker's performances at the Confederations Cup were eye-catching, prompting the Brazilian to have to make a choice between a glamour move to Europe or a prolonged stay at home club Santos.

Luxemburgo has been accused of putting unfair pressure on Robinho to join Real Madrid, but the former Brazil manager claims he is only speaking in the best interests of the player.

Luxemburgo claimed: "I am not seducing anyone. It is the right of Real Madrid to want to sign the best players and I do not think it is dishonest at all.

"I like Robinho, in the same way that I like Roberto Carlos and Ricardinho. The reality of football is that you have to play in Europe and Robinho cannot escape from that.

"No Brazilian player has ever been voted one of the world's best players whilst playing in Brazil."
