Barnet trial trio

Barnet have welcomed Zema Abbey, Mark Rawle and Ben Bowditch on trial.

Barnet have welcomed Zema Abbey, Mark Rawle and Ben Bowditch on trial as they look to complement their squad ahead of the London outfit's return to league football.

Manager Paul Fairclough is looking to recruit at least two new faces as he targets immediate promotion, and has allowed the trio to come to Underhill to stake their claims for a long-term contract.

Abbey (pictured) made his name at Norwich, becoming Nigel Worthington's first signing at The Canaries, but two serious knee injuries severely curtailed his progress as Carrow Road.

The striker cast his net far and wide last season in search of a new club but spells at Boston, Wycombe, Bradford and Torquay failed to yield a long term contract.

Former Spurs trainee Bowditch was released by Colchester at the end of the League One campaign after also suffering from injury troubles in the preceding nine months.

Striker Rawle will attempt to impress Fairclough after leaving Kidderminster following their relegation to the Conference last season .

All three players are expected to feature in Barnet's first pre-season game against Cheshunt on Monday.
