Kezman regrets Blues 'accident'

Mateja Kezman has described his season at Chelsea last year as an 'accident'.

Mateja Kezman has described his season at Chelsea last year as an 'accident' and is confident he will demonstrate his best form at Atletico Madrid.

After a hugely productive spell at PSV Eindhoven, Kezman arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer with a huge reputation as a goalscorer.

However, he struggled to persuade Jose Mourinho of his worth and only managed eight goals last term.

With Chelsea looking to bring in another big-name striker this summer, Kezman decided to cut his losses and accept a move to Atletico.

He feels he was never given the chance to cement his reputation in England, but believes he can challenge for major honours next term with his new employers.

"I will give everything to demonstrate that last year at Chelsea was an accident," he told Atletico's website.

"I hope to have a great season and score as many goals as possible.

"I am very excited to come here and know 90 percent of the players believe that it will be a great season."
