George Burley has admitted he would be interested in signing Steve Lomas.
Hearts boss George Burley has admitted he would be interested in signing Steve Lomas.Lomas looks set to leave West Ham after being told by Alan Pardew he does not figure in his plans.
Burley is a big fan of the former Manchester City man and has revealed he would be keen on bringing him to Tynecastle.
"There have been a number of players mentioned in the papers of late," Burley told Sky Sports News. "I have got a maximum of 14 first team players and I need to bring players in.
"Steve Lomas is a player I've always admired so he certainly is one that if he is available we would look at.
"But the key is to assess what we've got at the moment, then look at things and strengthen from there.
"There is money available to go and buy players, but like anything we have got to try and buy wisely and get players at the right price and that's what we're looking to do."
Championship side Preston could rival Hearts for Lomas with North End boss Billy Davies keen to add him to his squad.
