Toni heading for Florence
Fiorentina are expected to seal the signing of Luca Toni within the next week.
Fiorentina are expected to seal the signing of Luca Toni from Palermo within the next week. The Italian international, who has bagged 50 goals in just two seasons in Sicily, looks set to move for just under £9 million.
"I will meet with Palermo to finalise everything but only if they accept our offer," Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino said.
"We don't intend to spend more than £7.5m for Toni. If they agree, we will then discuss a contract with the player which must also be reasonable."
Palermo have already signed Andrea Caracciolo from Brescia as a possible replacement, but they are also in talks about Stephen Makinwa of Atalanta and Mirko Vucinic of Lecce.
"I'm talking with Lecce [for Vucinic] and with Atalanta [for Makinwa] and with two French sides," said Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.
"But I won't announce the names of those two French players, otherwise other clubs would eye them."
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have sold midfielder Alfonso Camorani to Lecce.
