Lopez 'keen on Zaragoza'

Claudio Lopez is hoping to secure a move to Real Zaragoza.

Claudio Lopez is hoping to secure a move to Real Zaragoza before the Mexican season starts and has told the Spanish club that they must be quick if they want to sign him from Club America.

Zaragoza have not ruled out bringing in either Lopez or Walter Pandiani, despite the double signing of Ewerthon and Sergio Garcia.

The Aragonese outfit want to strengthen their forward line further after seeing David Villa, Goran Drulic and Javi Moreno leave the club this summer.

Reports suggested that the former Valencia and Lazio player had signed a two-year deal with Victor Munoz's side, but that was premature and now Lopez is hoping to sort out his future, according to one of his representatives.

The player's representative also suggested that the deal needs to be concluded in the next week, as the Mexican season is due to start and this could result in Lopez remaining at Club America.

Zaragoza spokesman Miguel Pardeza believes that either of the two attacking players could join the club before the start of the new season.

"Neither of them are discarded," said Pardeza.
