Wolfsburg moved into the third round of the Intertoto Cup with a 3-1 win at Sturm Graz.

Wolfsburg secured their passage into the third round of the InterToto Cup with a 3-1 win at Sturm Graz.

The tie was evenly poised after a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Germany, but Wolfsburg struck first in Austria with Martin Petrov scoring from the penalty spot after 12 minutes.

Gunther Neukirchner drew the hosts level in the 68th minute and the game was back in the balance with the aggregate score at 3-3.

Petrov, who looks to be on his way to Atletico Madrid, hit his second for Wolfsburg on 77 minutes in what could be one of his last games for the club.

Juan Carlos Menseguez made the tie safe in the final minute as the 3-1 win ensured a 5-3 aggregate score and put Wolfsburg through.

Athletic Bilbao were the subjects of the biggest shock of the round as they went out on penalties to Romanian side CFR Cluj.

Athletic were looking to turn around a 1-0 defeat from the first leg of their clash with Romanian outfit.

Depotivo La Coruna survived a small scare in Serbia & Montenegro against Buducnost Podgorica.

Aleksejs Boruns and Mikhails Zizilevs put the hosts 2-0 ahead after just 18 minutes and rubbed out Zalgiris' two-goal advantage from the first leg.

However, Karolis Jasaitis struck for Zalgiris on the stroke of half time and that goal proved to be enough to get the Latvians through on aggregate.

Turkish side Ankaraspor earned a 1-0 win at Dubnica with a goal from Jaba, but the Slovakians went through after their 4-0 first leg win in Turkey and they will now face Newcastle in the next round.

Czech Republic side Sigma are also through after a goalless draw at Polish side Pogon courtesy of their 1- 0 win in the first leg.

Finnish side Tampere are through to the next round after they held Belgian outfit Charleroi to a goalless draw in their second leg, meaning their 1-0 home victory was even to se them through.
