Owls' Adamson U-turn

Sheffield Wednesday have re-signed goalkeeper Chris Adamson.

Sheffield Wednesday have performed a surprising u-turn by re-signing goalkeeper Chris Adamson on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old's contract expired at the end of this season, and The Owls initially allowed the player to go in search of another club.

However, Paul Sturrock has changed his mind on Adamson, admitting that the goalkeeper had been on his mind all summer.

"Chris would never let me down," Sturrock told the club website.

"He went in for us against Blackpool and then performed competently at Colchester. It played on my mind all summer because he is young and I feel there is still a development stage in him. With work, we could have a good keeper.

"Circumstances change. We know Chris, rather than having to bed a new keeper in. He has had several offers and was set to go for trials but I think he liked it here."
