Friendlies round-up

Chelsea kicked-off their pre-season campaign with a 5-1 win over Wycombe.

Premiership champions Chelsea kicked-off their pre-season campaign with a 5-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Jose Mourinho's side were on song in the opening 45 minutes with goals from Damien Duff and Carlton Cole giving The Blues a two-goal lead.

Dutch star Arjen Robben was introduced after the interval, along with Frank Lampard and William Gallas, and the pacey winger swiftly got his name on the scoresheet.

Charlie Griffin's 65th-minute header gave the home fans something to shout about, although their cheers were dampened when Robben bagged his second of the contest.

Jiri Jarosik added the icing on the cake for Chelsea when he was set up by Robben to net the visitors' fifth.

Fulham staged a second half revival against Schalke but were unable to salvage a draw in a 3-2 loss to Schalke in Austria.

The Cottagers found themselves three-down at the interval thanks to goals from Levan Kobiashvili, Mladen Krstajic and Lincoln.

However, Chris Coleman's side came out all guns blazing after half-time and youngster Michael Timlin pulled one back for the visitors.

Danish midfielder Claus Jensen reduced the arrears, but Fulham were unable to muster an equaliser.

Elsewhere, Geoff Horsfield's early goal was enough to give Bryan Robson's West Brom a 1-0 win over MK Dons.
