Mezague set for Saints trial

Valery Mezague is set to return to the South Coast for a trial with Southampton.

Mezague spent last season on loan Pompey, but failed to prove himself worthy of a permanent deal and was sent back to Montpellier.

The midfielder seems keen to ply his trade in England and he will get the chance to impress the man who brought him to Pompey, Saints boss Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp would appear to be a fan of Mezague and a deal could be struck, provided he proves himself over the next week.
