Brazilian side Santos have fined wantaway striker Robinho for skipping training.

Robinho is desperate to join Spanish giants Real Madrid and claims that Santos have previously agreed to let him move to El Santiago Bernabeu.

Santos now appear desperate to keep hold of Robinho, but the player is not happy and has been refusing to attend training.

Robinho has not been in training for two weeks and Santos have responded by fining him an undisclosed amount.

The club have now also informed Robinho that he will be fined for every day he does not show up for training as his transfer saga continues.

"He is still an employee of Santos and we will keep on sanctioning him for each day that he is absent from training until he decides to start work again," said club spokesman Ald Neto.

Robinho has not returned to Santos since he ended his participation with Brazil in the Confederations Cup in Germany because of his desire to play for Real Madrid.

Robinho's contract at Santos runs until 2008 and president Marcelo Teixeira now wants him to stay for at least another season.

Real thought they had a fee agreed with Santos but the South American side have been saying Robinho will only go if his buyout clause of $50 million is met.
