Pizarro makes Inter pledge

David Pizarro says he wants to end his career in Europe with Internazionale.

Internazionale new boy David Pizarro says he wants to end his career in Europe with the Nerazzurri.

The Chilean playmaker left Udinese to join Roberto Mancini's side on Thursday after helping his side to a surprise UEFA Champions League place.

The 25-year-old was widely seen as one of the most sought after players in Serie A and Internazionale beat off strong competition from Milan and Palermo to land their man.

The deal represented the conclusion of a lengthy pursuit of the star for Mancini, after he first attempted to sign Pizarro during his time at the helm of Lazio.

Pizarro revealed that Mancini's admiration of his talents was important in sealing the deal, and declared he wanted to remain with the Nerazzurri for as long as possible.

"I hope to end my career in this jersey," said Pizarro.

"I arrived at Inter after a long negotiation, I'm happy to be here and I hope Inter will be my last team in Italy and Europe.

"Feeling the coach's faith is really important, I felt Mancini's faith in these years.

"He always looked at me and I am happy to be finally at his disposal."

Pizarro, speaking at the club's summer training camp at Riscone di Brunico, also played down talk of a rift between himself and new-team mate and fellow South American Juan Sebastian Veron.

The two have been involved in some on-pitch exchanges as adversaries in the past, although Pizarro denied that any grudge would persist as they began their time as midfield partners.

"Sincerely me and Veron have played many matches as opponents, matches ended with hard contact but everything remains on the pitch," Pizarro insisted.

"There are not problems between us, as there aren't problems for my role.

"The most important thing is to play and for this reason I'll do everything to give troubles to the coach in his choices."
