Inter have confirmed they are close to signing Luis Figo and Walter Samuel.
Internazionale have confirmed they are close to signing Real Madrid duo Luis Figo and Walter Samuel. The Italian giants are holding negotiations with their Spanish counterparts in a bid to thrash out a deal for Figo and Samuel.
Portugal international Figo is due to join Inter on a permanent basis after pipping Liverpool to the winger's signature.
Figo is likely to be joined at Giuseppe Meazza by Argentinian defender Samuel, who is tipped to arrive on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
Nerazzurri supremo Massimo Moratti acknowledged talks are continuing, with the club hopeful of being able to unveil Figo and Samuel as Inter players.
"They are two separate negotiations," confirmed Moratti.
"Maybe they can be closed tonight (Tuesday) but it's possible they will continue."
Moratti also revealed his delight that the Leicester crowd did not turn on Inter during Monday's pre-season friendly at The Walkers Stadium.
Inter originally cancelled their tour of England following the recent bombings in London, before performing a U-turn, and Moratti was happy there was no negative reaction at Leicester.
He added: "It's true there have been misunderstandings but I didn't like a few of the reactions that have been exploited.
"But I'm happy the team behaved with a big dignity. The English crowd welcomed us in a really good way and this is a further positive signal."
