Palace confident over Johnson
Crystal Palace are confident Andy Johnson has not been unsettled by new rumours.
Crystal Palace are confident star striker Andy Johnson has not been unsettled by the latest bout of transfer talk.Rumours suggest Everton have made a tentative enquiry for the England international, who has been linked with a swift return to The Premiership.
Toffees manager David Moyes has reportedly contacted his Palace counterpart Iain Dowie to sound out Johnson's availability.
Moyes is preparing a £6 million bid for Johnson, despite Palace remaining steadfast in their refusal to sanction his sale.
West Bromwich Albion have already had an offer for the hit-man rejected this summer, while Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with Johnson.
Johnson is currently enjoying pre-season with The Eagles and the club's assistant manager Neil McDonald feels the forward has not been affected by the speculation.
McDonald is also confident the Championship club can continue to resist offers for the former Birmingham City attacker ahead of the new campaign.
"I know nothing about the approach from Everton," said McDonald.
"Andrew does not look unhappy to me and it does not look as though he is distracted.
"Unless anyone says otherwise, I believe he will start the season with us, and I believe we are all pulling in the same direction. Andrew is a model pro."
