Samuel to seal Inter switch

Walter Samuel looks set to finalise his move to Internazionale on Monday.

Samuel held talks with Inter on Friday and his agent Roberto Rodriguez finalised an agreement.

"We are really happy," said Rodriguez.

Samuel is now back in Spain concluding matters at Real Madrid, but he will back in Italy within the next 48 hours before being unveiled by Inter.

The move sees Samuel, formerly with Roma, move back to Italy after just one season at El Santiago Bernabeu.

Inter are set to pay ‚é¼16 million over four instalments for the Argentine.

Samuel will link-up with fellow South American Ivan Cordoba at the heart of Inter's defence.

Samuel is likely to make his Inter bow in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Shakhtar Donetsk, although Cordoba may not be with him as he has suffered an ankle injury.
