Uruguay international Dario Silva has quit Sevilla to join Argentinian side Colon. The striker has been chasing an exit from Sevilla in recent weeks after learning he does not figure in coach Juande Ramos' plans.
He had 12 months remaining on his contract at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan and had been linked with a move to Qatar.
Silva shunned the overtures from the Middle East due to family reasons while he was also unwilling to drop down a division.
The 32-year-old has now been rescued from his plight by Colon, who have signed Silva on a one-year contract.
Silva's return to South America ends his six-year stay in Spain, with the forward also having played for Espanyol and Malaga.
