Turci leaves Sampdoria

Veteran goalkeeper Luigi Turci has left Sampdoria by mutual consent.

Sampdoria have announced that veteran goalkeeper Luigi Turci will leave the club by mutual consent.

The news had been expected after Turci spent last season as number two to Francesco Antonioli.

Now the 35-year-old's playing chances have further diminished due to the recent decision to sign Luca Castellazzi.

Turci requested for his contract to be annulled at Sampdoria, and now the goalkeeper is free to find a new club.

Reports are suggesting that the Italian is set to sign a two-year deal with Cesena, who Turci is believed to have been prepared to go on loan to before his decision to cut all ties with Sampdoria.
