Quakers land Logan
Darlington have signed former Manchester City winger Carlos Logan.
Darlington have signed former Manchester City winger Carlos Logan on a free transfer. The 19-year-old joins the League Two club following a successful trial with David Hodgson's side, signing a six-month contract with the North East outfit.
The deal is with the option for a further six months with The Quakers, as Logan looks to make the most of his opportunity for the coming campaign.
Logan finished last season on loan with League One side Chesterfield but has opted to drop down a division to continue his career.
"Carlos is only a young player and has the potential to prove a real asset to our midfield, so I want to take this next six months to look at him closely and see how well he can fit into our team," Hodgson told the club's official website.
"If he settles in as well as the rest of the new signings have, I would hope that the fans can see him in action when the season begins."
One player that has left the club for a six-month period is defender David McGurk after re-joining Conference club York City for a second loan spell.
Meanwhile, former Darlington striker Alun Armstrong has stated he would consider a return to the club on a two-year deal.
The 30-year-old has been training with former club Ipswich Town since ending last season with The Quakers, having failed to see a move to League One club Colchester United come to fruition.
"I would have taken a move to Colchester for a year because that's only down the road from where I live," Armstrong told The Northern Echo.
"Hodgy was brilliant with me last season, but he knows that I have a family to think about down here, and there would be little point in uprooting them if I'm just at Darlington for a year."
