Bolton agree Nakata deal

Bolton are closing in on the signing of Japanese superstar Hidetoshi Nakata.

Bolton are closing in on the signing of Japanese superstar Hidetoshi Nakata.

The Trotters have lined up a move for the Fiorentina playmaker as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Fiorentina are willing to let Nakata move on and the player is thought to be keen on trying his luck in England.

Bolton confirmed they were in talks with Nakata on Wednesday and they have now moved closer to completing a deal by agreeing terms with the midfielder and agreeing a season-long loan deal with Fiorentina.

Agent Peter Harrison, who has helped broker the deal to take Nakata to the Reebok Stadium, revealed personal terms had been agreed and that the player was undergoing a medical at the club.

"All the personal terms have been agreed between Bolton and Hidetoshi," Harrison told skysports.com.

"He is now having his medical and that should all be completed very soon."

Bolton are hoping to tie up a deal in time to have Nakata available for this weekend's Premiership opener with Aston Villa.
