Riquelme fears Toffees

Juan Roman Riquelme believes Everton will be difficult opponents.

Juan Roman Riquelme believes Everton will be difficult opponents as Villarreal tackle The Toffees in the UEFA Champions League.

Both teams are just two games away from qualifying for the group stage of the prestigious European competition and the Argentine star is desperate for the Liga outfit to see off Everton.

The former Barcelona schemer is expecting a physical game at Goodison Park, but is hoping Villarreal can score an away goal ahead of the second leg at Estadio El Madrigal.

"I am not happy with the draw because Everton are a hard rival, but really any club who qualify for the Champions League will be dangerous," explained Riquelme.

"We are calm and prepared for the game. I am convinced that Everton will not be easy. They are a typical English club. They fight, have great strength and are strong in the air.

"Scoring a goal at Goodison Park will be invaluable. That is our objective on Tuesday. We are not worried by Everton's players.

"Our objective is to qualify from this round. If we fail to qualify it will undermine all of our efforts from last season.

"I am very motivated by playing an English club. These matches receive great coverage in Argentina and are always very special.

"My dream is to star in the Champions League and now I have that opportunity with Villarreal. I am happy playing in Villarreal. I've forgotten my time at Barca."
