Oliveira makes peace with Betis
Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira has settled his financial dispute with Real Betis.
Striker Ricardo Oliveira has settled his financial dispute with Real Betis and is now ready to remain with the Primera outfit. The Brazilian hit-man enjoyed a superb first season with Los Verdiblancos following his move from Valencia, netting 22 goals.
That form made him one of Spain's top marksmen last term and helped fire Betis to a UEFA Champions League place.
However, the 25-year-old rocked the boat on Wednesday by publicly claiming he was prepared to leave Betis after they had failed to honour a clause in his contract that would see his salary increased.
"There is a problem with money and if it is not resolved then it would be best for me to leave," he had said.
Those words appear to have stung Betis into action and the prospect of losing their premier striker is clearly not one they are willing to entertain.
The matter has now been resolved and Oliveira is satisfied the incident has been put to bed.
"Yesterday I said that there was a problem that could be easily resolved on my part and on Betis' part and that is how it has proved," he stated on Thursday.
"A clause in my contract has been signed and that is that.
"I don't regret what I said yesterday (Wednesday) because all I did was make public something that needed sorting out."
