Tymoschuk admits interest

Antolii Tymoschuk has spoken to skysports.com about a move to England.

Shakhtar Donetsk captain Anatolii Tymoschuk has spoken to skysports.com about a possible move to England.

The talented Ukraine international was thought to be close to a move to The Premiership last summer and again, talk has been of a possible switch to England.

Tymoschuk admits that tentative interest has been mooted, via his agent, but that there has been no firming up of these initial approaches thus far.

Newcastle, Arsenal, Everton, Bolton and Middlesbrough have all been mooted as possible suitors in the past but the player is keen to reiterate that his future is very much in the hands of his current employers.

''The transfer fee is the prerogative of the president,'' Tymoschuk told skysports.com. ''I still have some years left to play here according to my contract.

''I don't prefer to look to the past. I prefer to look to the future.

''As for the mentioned clubs, their executives didn't contact me personally, even when they were looking at my game at the stadium.

''All the contact was led through agents. I heard about the interest of the mentioned clubs but for their intentions and plans, you'd better ask their executives.''

Tymoschuk admits that at some point in the future he would like to ply his trade in one of Europe's more illustrious leagues - hopeful that he will provide Ukrainian football with a real boost.

''As I said before, the president of Shakhtar doesn't tell me that I'm not for sale - he's ready to consider proposals about my transfer - which are sent to him personally,'' he concluded.

''You know that there are such proposals which we can deny, but are impossible to deny.

''In any case, if Shakhtar will sell me, they have to substitute me, but everybody understands that a transfer to a great side makes a good image for the club in Europe.

''Transfer to Europe; this is a little step for me and can be a big step for the club and Ukrainian football.

''There is only thing I know exactly; the best way to open a door is to push it.

''My attitude to football is professional. I do my best to help my team. I am used to executing every coach's demands.''
