Dresden loan for Ludwig

Alexander Ludwig has left Hertha Berlin to join Dynamo Dresden on loan.

Alexander Ludwig has left Hertha Berlin to join Dynamo Dresden on loan.

The Germany Under-21 international will spend the current season on loan with the second division outfit.

The talented midfielder broke into Hertha's starting formation two years ago but has struggled to hold down a first-team place under coach Falko Gotz ever since.

He was considering a move to Cologne earlier in the summer and is now hopeful of gaining much-needed match practice during his spell at Dresden.

Dresden have captured the 21-year-old for the rest of the season but will have no option to sign the youngster on a permanent basis as Ludwig must report back to Hertha in June 2006.
