Big Sam defiant over Stelios

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce insists Stelios will only leave the club on his terms.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce insists Stelios Giannakopoulos will only leave the club on his terms.

The Greek winger, who was strongly linked with Liverpool earlier this summer, is wanted by Manchester City to replace Shaun Wright-Phillips.

City boss Stuart Pearce has turned his attention to Stelios after missing out on Fulham's Steed Malbranque.

Stelios is so far refusing to pen a new deal at The Reebok, which has led to City's offer - although their £1 million bid seems well short of Allardyce's valuation.

The Bolton chief is adamant that Stelios will not be allowed to leave for less than what he deems value for money.

"It will come down to how much City offer for him, how much we offer him and how much City offer for his transfer," said Allardyce.

"If he stays, that's great. If he doesn't he goes on our terms - not on anybody else's.

"We'll see if City want to negotiate.

"If we can get £4 million, we've got some to spend."
