PSV Eindhoven have enquired about the availability of Roda JC's Arouna Kone.
PSV Eindhoven have enquired about the availability of Roda JC's Ivory Coast international Arouna Kone.
PSV have moved for Kone after previously failing in a bid for Feyenoord's Salomon Kalou.
Roda are believed to value the striker in the £6 million bracket with Kone's contract at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion running until 2008.
Huub Stevens, Roda's coach, confirmed: "If PSV failed in a bid for Kalou then they may also fail to sign Arouna.
"If they want to sign him, they know the kind of price we are looking at."
The 21-year-old's agent, Serge Trimpont, has reiterated his client's desire to secure a transfer as soon as possible after a summer 2004 transfer to Ajax collapsed at the last moment.
Ajax contacted Roda on August 30, a fee and personal terms were agreed but Kone failed a medical check on the last day of the transfer window.
Kone joined Roda from Belgian side Lierse in August 2003 and recently saw a proposed move to Benfica blocked after the Portuguese side failed to agree a fee with Roda.
