Galasek not Blind's Czech mate

Tomas Galasek has vented his anger at Ajax coach Danny Blind's team selection.

Czech Republic international captain Tomas Galasek has expressed his disgust at the way he is being treated by Ajax coach Danny Blind.

Galasek is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that, whilst he captains his country, he is not even considered to be good enough for a starting role at his club Ajax.

"Coach Blind prefers (Hedwiges) Maduro," stated Galasek. "I have passed the whole pre-season; I have even played the last two pre-season matches in the tournament at Amsterdam.

"I have played 90 minutes in the first match against Arsenal and the second half against Boca Juniors. That was the last match I have played. The coach then told me before the Supercup that he will prefer Maduro.

"Of course it is unpleasant when you pass the whole pre-season training; you have everything timed and then this. I take it as a hit below the belt."

Despite his current club situation, Galasek is remaining upbeat ahead of Czech Republic's friendly in Sweden on Wednesday, preferring to look at the positives and insisting that it could serve to improve his performances in his country's forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

"It has some advantages because you can't get an injury. Maybe except in training. And I will also be fresh for the autumn qualifiers.

"Milan Baros experienced the same situation at Liverpool too and you can't recognise it."

The 32-year-old is also confident that a return to action at international level will help him win his place back at the Amsterdam giants.

"I feel very disappointed but I try to face up to it. I was in the same situation already under coach Koeman. I believe it will change for the better.

"That is why I was so looking forward to the international team meeting. I arrived here to play.

"We will see how long it will last. I should not have a problem on the playing side of things. I surely believe I will win the starting position back."

And Galasek heightened speculation that Pavel Nedved will come out of international retirement, after admitting that he had discussed the matter with the Juventus superstar.

"I told him my opinion and that it depends only on him. Personally, I am really curious if he decides to return. He is of course welcomed as before."
