Watford tie down Bangura

Watford have handed a new contract to starlet Al Bangura.

Watford have handed a new contract to starlet Al Bangura.

The Sierra Leone midfielder made his first team debut late last season and impressed new boss Adrian Bothroyd with his whole hearted displays.

Now just months after securing his first deal, Bothroyd has moved to tie Bangura down to a new long-term contract - following reports of Premiership interest.

Despite being aged just 17 Bangura has featured in all three of Watford's games so far this season and is already emerging as one of the most promising players to emerge from Vicarage Road in recent seasons.

Bangura was more than delighted to have agreed terms on a new three-year deal.

"This is a great deal for Al," his agent Tony Finnigan told skysports.com.

"He is not looking to move at this point of his career and he is loving life under Adrian Bothroyd and everyone at Watford.

"All the Watford staff have been great to Al since he joined and he is now showing just what he is capable of."
