Duo gain promotion to Serie A
The Italian Football Federation have promoted Ascoli and Treviso to Serie A.
The Italian Football Federation have announced the promotion of Treviso and Ascoli to replace relegated sides Genoa and Torino in next season's Serie A.
Genoa were demoted following a match-fixing scandal while Torino were unable to offer financial guarantees to the league and both will turn out in Serie C1 next season.
For Treviso, who themselves were plying their trade in Serie C two seasons ago, this latest development crowns an incredible rise to prominence.
A delighted Treviso president, Ettore Setten, confirmed to the club's official website: "I'm happy and at the same time extremely proud.
"Everyone at the club must take credit and I won't forget the people who were here last season and made all this possible.
"I'd always hoped that one day this club and team would deserve their chance to play in the top league."
Treviso will start their Serie A campaign with a daunting trip to face Internazionale, whilst Ascoli will host Milan.
