Yeovil see striker resolution

Yeovil hope the saga to sign striker Pablo Bastianini will be resolved on Wednesday.

Yeovil Town are hoping the continuing saga surrounding Argentine striker Pablo Bastianini could be resolved on Wednesday.

The hit-man went back to his homeland last week in a bid to speed through the paperwork currently preventing him from completing a switch to Huish Park.

Glovers boss Gary Johnson was hoping to have the 22-year-old on board for the start of the season having agreed a deal to sign him from Quilmes.

However, red tape has prevented the League One side from registering him and Bastianini took matters into his own hands to resolve the impasse.

The player is now hopeful of being back in England on Wednesday with all the necessary papers to rubber-stamp his move.

"The tales of the unexpected carry on because Monday is a Bank Holiday in Argentina so everything is shut," Johnson explained.

"But we have heard from his advisors that he will be back in England on Wednesday with his clearance."

Meanwhile, Yeovil have loaned left back Stephen Reed to Conference club Woking for a month.
