Mozart Moscow bound

Spartak Moscow have agreed a deal to sign Reggina's Brazilian captain Mozart.

Spartak Moscow have agreed a deal with Reggina for their Brazilian captain Mozart.

The 25-year-old will move to the Russian capital after both sides came to terms on a fee, with Reggina thought to have wanted ‚é¼6.5 million to part company with the South American midfielder.

The signing of Mozart will come as a bit of a coup for Spartak, as the player had attracted the interest of fellow Serie A sides Juventus, Palermo and Fiorentina this close season.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce were also interested in signing the Brazilian but the player has opted for a switch to Russian football with Spartak.

He leaves the Stadio Oreste Granillo club after five seasons with the Italian outfit.

As part of the deal struck for Mozart, both Reggina and Spartak Moscow will play a friendly this coming January as part of the Russian club's pre-season preparations for their new domestic season in 2006.
