Andy finalises Everton move
Everton have ended any doubts over the Andy van der Meyde transfer.
Everton have ended any doubts over the Andy van der Meyde transfer by signing the Internazionale midfielder on a four-year contract.
The Dutch wide man has been in talks with the Goodison Park outfit this week but the Merseysiders wanted a second opinion on his groin injury.
With the medical causing problems and the transfer deadline creeping closer, it was feared that van der Meyde's move could collapse.
However, David Moyes has got his man in plenty of time and the 25-year-old will add some extra class to the Toffees squad ahead of their Uefa Cup campaign.
Monaco came close to signing the former Ajax star earlier in the summer but the move fell through.
The fee is undisclosed but it represents a major investment for Everton. Italian sources claim Inter have received around é¼3 million (just in excess of £2 million).
"I am very happy today," van der Meyde told Everton's official website. "I am happy I can play for Everton because it is such a nice club and I hope I can show my football again because it has been a long time for me."
